UK Sailing Academy (UKSA) has been confirmed as the Maritime Solent Charity Partner for 2025-26. This announcement is linked with the annual Awards celebrating the best of the maritime in the region.
The Cowes-based charity that operates a youth education and maritime training facility on the Isle of Wight, works to transform young lives by widening access to maritime training to enhance life skills and employment in the sector. UKSA was chosen to work together with Maritime Solent following a thorough selection process.
Anne-Marie Mountifield, Chair of Maritime Solent, said: “UKSA is an incredible charity working with young people across our region and specifically on the Isle of Wight. So many of their values to help equip young people with the right skills, confidence and knowledge for a future in the maritime industry reflect those of Maritime Solent’s own to support people with their maritime careers.
“Congratulations to UKSA and we’re looking forward to partnering and helping to further raise UKSA’s profile within the industry.”
Catherine Dixon, CEO of UKSA, said: “We’re absolutely delighted that UKSA has been selected as Maritime Solent’s Charity Partner. It’s a tremendous honour and a valuable opportunity to showcase the transformative impact of the UKSA’s work with children and young people, particularly those from the Isle of Wight and across the Solent region. With the support of Maritime Solent and its members, we’ll be able to reach even more young people to equip them with the skills, confidence, and qualifications they need to build bright futures in the maritime industry. Together, we will inspire the next generation and help create a maritime sector that is truly inclusive, accessible, and full of opportunity.”
