The Maritime Solent team will be at Seawork, Europe’s largest on-water commercial marine and workboat exhibition, to deliver some exciting careers events.
On Wednesday 11 June, we are running a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) afternoon session from 15:30 – 17:30 for teaches, tutors, careers and school support staff to highlight the careers opportunities the maritime sector has to offer their students.
We would be delighted to welcome those working in Further Education, particularly those involve in trades (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, engineering), computer science, computer studies, science, physics and design technology to explore how these skills are needed in the maritime sector.
On Thursday 12 June, we will be welcoming school and college students to the Seawork exhibition to enjoy exploring the trade show and participate in organised activities.
Registered attendees are welcome to come along for the day from 09:30 – 15:00 and will have the opportunity to:
– Meet employers.
– Explore the exhibition stands.
– Watch the on-water demonstrations of new technologies and innovative designs.
– Listen to young people talk about their own career pathway and ambitions in the Commercial Marine’s Got Talent session featuring short inspirational talks.
– Visit the Careers Fair with over 20 careers specialists from a variety of exhibiting companies in this attractive, multifaceted sector.
Seawork is free to attend, and runs from 10 – 12 June. All attendees need to register in advance.
