Maritime Solent Horizons Graduate Programme – Roundtable Discussion
Date: Tuesday, 27 January 2026
Event Overview
Maritime Solent invites our partner organisations to join an important discussion on the potential development of a new initiative: the Maritime Solent Horizons Graduate Programme.
It will be a graduate training offer where participants work in a number of different organisations as part of an organised programme.
Benefits to graduates: unparalleled exposure to the breadth of the maritime sector, helping them explore diverse career paths and clarify their future ambitions.
Benefits to participating organisations: the ability to employ career starters permanently at the end of the programme with a much broader sector understanding.
About the Proposal
- Duration: 1–2 years
- Structure: Graduates complete 3–4 placements annually across participating organisations.
- Employment Model: Graduates employed by a third party; organisations fund placements and provide pastoral support.
- Programme will be managed and owned by Maritime Solent
- Contracts: will be managed by one of our partner recruitment agencies
- Outcome: Employers may offer roles at the end of the programme (no obligation).
The initiative seeks to strengthen the maritime talent pipeline, foster collaboration among employers, and showcase the diversity of opportunities within our industry.
